Summer Skincare Routine

“Oh god its so hot, I’m hating this kind of weather, it makes me sweat so much”, “my skin is a wreck because of this hot weather”. These are some phrases I’ve been hearing and speaking for some time now. Being an Indian, I feel the pain of people complaining of hot weather and the scorching heat leading to a lot of skin issues like acne, skin allergies etc and most importantly TAN(which I will cover in the next post). So, oily or sensitive skin is more prone to getting caught up in skin problems during summer. Following a simple and easy skincare routine will help you get the flawless skin even in this kind of weather.

1. CLEANSE

This is the MOST IMPORTANT part of your skin care routine to keep your skin soft and glowing. One must use a mild cleanser thrice a day, once in the morning, once after coming from outside and once before sleeping. This will help remove any dirt that may dull the look on your face. My picks are: Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash or Patanjali Aloe and Neem facewash.

2. EXFOLIATE

Another important step of your routine should be, EXFOLIATING. This is done to remove any dead cells or grime. This must be followed religiously if you wish to have a smooth and clear skin. One can buy a scrub from the market or use a homemade scrub. REMEMBER TO NOT OVER EXFOLIATE; don’t exfoliate more than thrice a week. My picks are: Biotique scrub or Patanjali Scrub.

3. TONING

It is a liquid which is used to close/reduce open pores. This helps in making the skin look firm and lifted. It should always be followed by cleansing if you don’t want to have a skin with visible pores. My picks are: Shahnaz Husain Sharose Toner, Biotique Cucumber Water Toner.

4. MOISTURIZING

This is the most important step of all steps, that is because people have a misconception that they shouldn’t moisturize their skin because they have oily skin type or so, but that is completely wrong. THIS STEP MUST BE DONE BY EVERY SKIN TYPE. However, the choice of the moisturizer is based on the skin type. Oily skin must go for gel based, while normal ones should go for water based and dry skin should go for rich moisturizers. My picks are: Cetaphil, Lacto Calamine, and Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture.

5. SUN PROTECTION

Sun has the worst effects on our skin like tan, and premature ageing and wrinkles. To save oneself from that, one must use a good SPF sun screen and reapply it after few hours. My picks are: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch and Lotus Sunblock.

What and When?!

WHAT?!

After following up so many bloggers online, I finally found the courage to start a blog of my own which would be of use to people. It’s not any different from other bloggers but then yes, why not give it a shot?

I’d be posting about different areas being fashion, and  beauty, stuff which everyone comes across, and has a lot of issues with; maybe I could be of help to some of you.

WHEN?!

I’ll post weekly, and try to provide you with some or the other sort of useful information.
