Know your Skintone

It’s been so long since I posted anything on the blog, and I really loved it when you people messaged me to post something, no wonder I love you all so much. I am sorry I that I didn’t post anything, that’s because I had my exams going on and just got done with them.

But since I’m here today, I’ll post something which plays a major role in deciding on your cosmetics, your hair dyes, and basically everything, and that is your SKIN TONE! You might spend or splurge on your make up products but that’s all pointless and waste of money if the products you buy aren’t in accordance with your skin tone. So, one must be absolutely sure of their skin tone so they know what to buy and what to avoid. So go for the makeup hues that accentuate your natural features and make you glow.

1. KNOW YOUR UNDERTONES

One needs to know that undertones are of a few categories:

Warm: These are yellow or perhaps golden undertones

Neutral: These are a mix of warm and cool undertones

Cool:  These are pink, red or bluish  undertones

 

The best way of finding out of your undertones is by merely looking at your wrists, your veins specifically. Do this under natural light for correct results. If your veins look slightly greenish, then you have a warm undertone, if blue, you have a cool undertone, and if you can’t really be certain of them, then my dear, you have a neutral undertone( you are one lucky person).

So, now that you know your undertones, you’re one step closer at choosing the perfect shade of foundation, concealer and everything else for yourself.

2. KNOW YOUR COMPLEXION

 

Complexions are of different types and two people are unlikely to have exactly the same complexion, but I will try to sought out some for you based on undertones( now that you’re aware of yours).

 

• Fair complexion : You ought to have a cool undertone. Some Bollywood beauties like Aishwarya Rai Bachhan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Katrina Kaif have a fair complexion. And for my readers outside India, celebrities like Emma Stone, Dakota Johnson would be the ones with a very fair complexion.

 

 

 

 

• Medium/Olive/ Dusky complexion : You have a neutral undertone and have complexion like our Bollywood queens namely Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta and Bipasha Basu. And for Hollywood, the queen bees would be Mila Kunis and Angelina Jolie. Olive complexion, according to many beauty experts is by far the best complexion as majority of the products suit well with the complexion making the person glow.

      

 

 

• Dark complexion: You tend to have a warm undertone, and share your complexion with some influential women of Bollywood like Freida Pinto and Nandita Das, as for Hollywood, you have a complexion similar to my favorite Rihanna and of course United States first lady Michelle Obama!
